I’ll be honest, I’ve struggled with what to write here. Hence we’re more than a week into the new year and I’m just getting this out now.
For some of you, 2018 was amazing. For others of you it was full of challenges, maybe pain and trauma.
I definitely had joy and I had challenges. The hardest for me concerned relationships. As a parent I had a scare that a shift would mean I wouldn’t see much of my son and daughter. In a separate situation there was a challenge of getting extremely attached to a romantic relationship which recently became important to morph back into a great friendship. Even though I like a few quiet minutes to myself its important for me to be able to rely on being able to spend regular time with people I love.
Both of these as well as other things that life threw my way have helped me to grow and heal in ways that I am very grateful for.
I’m happy to report that I still get to spend time with both my kids each week. Even more than before!
The friendship is adjusting still but I know it will be amazing in the long run, and it’s hard emotionally sometimes but I trust it to be for the best for both of us and our families.
I had some temporary business/money challenges but thankfully (probably to some of you reading this who are my loyal clients) I’m making progress in being more successful in those areas also and happy to be doing work I enjoy and helping you to enjoy your life more.
I also got out of flatting with others and into a place of my own which was a nice accomplishment that felt great!
I wanted to share one thing I’m loving so far about 2019. Mel Robbins, Author of The 5 second rule, is doing an amazing free online event called the Mindset Reset. #mindsetreset. The focus is instead of making a bunch of New Years goals that are overwhelming, and therefore don’t ever happen, we focus on a few concepts or themes to focus on for a few minutes each day. She is doing a live video every day for 35 days and no matter what day it’s on you can learn some great tips to help take charge of your life and reduce your stress. I’m going to add some of the tips into the course I’m creating about Managing Mood to Increase Joy that I will release in the next couple of months. Watch this space for that and please Go sign up with Mel to participate with over 200,000 people from around the world in being more deliberate with their lives and get her daily reminders and tips. She’s not selling anything with this. Just awesome bite sized life skills we can all do.

Whatever is going on in your life, I want you to know that you are loved, and that you can get through any challenges you are experiencing currently. Remember hugs are always free. Make sure to give some and allow others to give some to you everyday.
Wishing you increased joy and peace this year and each year hereafter.
