Many moons ago when I was first being taught to massage I was told that a ‘good masseuse was born not made’.
At the time I thought that was a lovely compliment and continued doing what I did and doing more courses. Feedback I received was beyond amazing and yet, since it was me doing it of course I didn’t really think much about it. However when receiving massages, I often felt a little ‘cheated’: like it wasn’t as wonderful as I would like. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE being massaged but somehow I was often left wishing I could massage myself – feeling that I could do a better job . . . so when I find someone who REALLY gets a body, who can make me feel like they know what my body needs and my body relaxes under their touch – then I know I have found a masseuse/masseur who was ‘born not made’.
Shane is such one. His acceptance of, acknowledgement of and tending of a body on his table is truly amazing – I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who wants to feel wonderful.
